On June 07, 2012 Ryan Dixon, 26 passed away after a heart breaking battle with cancer. Ryan was a great friend to everyone he knew and a person that truly enjoyed life. Playing his guitar, fishing with his buddies, or riding on the Creeper Trail were just a few of the ways Ryan spent his spare time. The Ryan Dixon Memorial bike ride is a simple way we hope to honor Ryan each year by doing something he enjoyed!

In 2017 the Creeper Challenge will be held on Saturday, August 12th.  There will be a 5K on the Creeper Trail starting at 8 AM and a bike ride at 9 AM.  You can choose to do the 5K, bike ride, or both.  The bike ride has turn around points at Watagua, Alvarado, Damascus, and Whitetop so you can choose to ride anywhere from 8 miles to 66 miles!  We call the bike ride from Abingdon to Whitetop and back the "Creeper Challenge" and this year we have great prizes for the first three people back and a unique medal!

This year 100 % of the money raised through registration fees and Creeper Challenge teams will go to  cancer patients in need in our area.  To learn more about this gurantee and how this works click here .

Use the "Buy Tickets" link on the left to purchase a ticket for the 5K, bike ride, or both.  This year we are asking everyone to consider starting a team to raise money for the Cancer Outreach Foundation.  Once team members reach a minimum fundraising goal they get a free ticket for the event.  There are gifts for team members that reach certain goals like upgraded jerseys and special prizes for teams and team members that raise the most money.  Remember the money raised at this event goes to help local cancer patients through the Cancer Outreach Foundation in memory of Ryan Dixon.

We have a lot of great prizes for 2017 including up to $100 cash in the 5K and First, Second, & Third place prizes for our Abingdon to Whitetop Riders!!  Click Here for all the Details!
